Frequently asked questions.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Anything else — get in touch.

Does i-TaviPOS handle VAT automatically?

Yes. VAT is calculated on every sale, purchase and credit note according to how each item is configured — standard-rated, zero-rated or exempt — with FRCS-aligned invoice formatting.

Do I still need a separate accounting package?

No. i-TaviPOS includes full double-entry accounting — a chart of accounts, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation and financial statements — alongside the POS and inventory modules.

Is payroll a separate product I need to connect?

No — payroll runs natively inside i-TaviPOS, built on the same engine as i-Tavi Pay. Cashier hours and sales-linked commission flow straight into the pay run, with no export or manual re-entry. If you also want full HR record-keeping, leave management or recruitment, i-Tavi Pay's separate HRM product can run alongside it — but it isn't required for payroll to work.

Can I run more than one branch or outlet?

Yes. Each branch has its own till, cashiers and stock, rolled up into consolidated reporting and accounts — with one login for owners and accountants who need the full picture.

What happens if my internet connection drops mid-sale?

The till keeps ringing up sales and reconciles cleanly the moment your connection is back — a dropped connection shouldn't mean a lost sale.

Who builds and supports i-TaviPOS?

i-TaviPOS is built by Pro Accountants, a Fiji-based chartered accounting practice, and by the same team behind i-Tavi Pay. Support is local, and the people who build the tax engine are the same people who understand what your accountant needs from it.

Can I bring in my existing item list and customers?

Yes. Our team helps migrate your item list, customer and supplier accounts, and opening stock and balances from your current system or a spreadsheet.

How does i-TaviPOS help prevent theft?

Through controls, not promises — full role-based access so staff can only do what their role allows, approval thresholds on voids and discounts, sequential invoice numbering, and an immutable audit log on every sensitive action. No software can guarantee theft never happens, but these controls make it hard to hide and easy to catch.

Are the accounts IFRS compliant?

The ledger, inventory valuation and fixed-asset treatment are built around IFRS and IAS principles — the standards Pro Accountants' own accountants are trained and examined on — so what your accountant or auditor receives is something they can work with directly, not a homegrown approximation.
